Hi, I’m the mother of the 5 kittens that were found during the week in Mountrath. I’m only about 8 months old myself and haven’t had a great life up till now. Believe it or not, I was once a cute little kitten that everyone loved to cuddle, but — once the tom cats came […]

Invisible Cats

A big shout out to Colm, a Portlaoise postman, who rang in about this very sick cat. He had noticed it on his rounds in The Garden Village yesterday and thought it didn’t look well. However, on his rounds today it was still hanging around and looked considerably worse. He rang Vet-care, who rang us. […]

Not a good start to the year… Following on from yesterday’s news item on the seven puppies found in a bag — unfortunately one puppy passed away last night (31st) and the remaining one died early this morning. They were very weak when they came in to us —  God only know how long they were […]

Kitten rejected on Christmas day

27th Dec 2018
Unfortunately, one of our volunteers ended up having to collect this kitten on Christmas night, an unwanted Christmas present. Seriously what do some humans have as brains? Why would you go out and get an animal who needs love and care for someone without checking with them first?
